RNSG 1412 - Nursing Care of the Childbearing andChildrearing Family CIP Code: 51.3801 Credit(s): 4 Course Description: Study of the concepts related to the provision of nursing care for childbearing and childrearing families. Application of systematic problem-solving processes and critical thinking skills, including a focus on the childbearing family during the perinatal periods and the childrearing family from birth to adolescence; and competency in knowledge, judgment, skill, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. This course lends itself to a blocked approach.
End-of-Course Outcomes: Examine the roles of the professional nurse in the perinatal and pediatric settings; utilize a systematic problem-solving approach and critical thinking skills when providing nursing care for the childbearing and childrearing family. 1,2,3,4,5
