Accommodations for Persons with Disabilities
Odessa College is fully committed to providing access to programs, classes, services, and activities to individuals with disabilities as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Students are required to meet in person or online with the Office of Student Accommodations for an initial interview. Students with disabilities will be responsible for disclosing their disability and providing documentation from a licensed professional regarding the disability and need for accommodations.
Certain programs and/or exams require documentation that is less than 2 years old. Accommodations will be determined on a case-by-case basis, based on the documentation, the student’s history, and specific functional limitations.
The following accommodations may be available:
- Extended time on exams/quizzes
- Testing in a quiet place like our Testing Center
- Copies of professor’s notes
- Enlarged print on a computer
The Office of Student Accommodations will review all requests for reasonable accommodations that are not listed here.

Financial Aid
OC awards more than $11 million annually in grants, scholarships, loans and work programs. Applications for these programs are available on the Odessa College’s website (www.odessa.edu) under Financial Aid.
Students who receive federal financial aid must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average and complete 67% of the classes for which they enroll. Students who have received any type of financial assistance through Odessa College must check with the Financial Aid Office before dropping any classes during the term or long semester. If a student who is awarded a federal grant or loan completely withdraws from classes the student may be responsible for repaying a portion of that grant or loan.
Lost & Found
All articles found on campus should be taken to the Odessa College Police Department (OCPD). Those who have lost articles should check with OCPD, who are located on the first floor of the Spur building.
Veterans
Veterans, active-duty service members, reservists, and their family members may be entitled to received educational benefits such as GI Bill (federal) or Hazlewood Act (state). Students who wish to receive these benefits or would like information may consult the OC Financial Aid Office. The Veterans Center, located on the first floor of the Learning Resources Center (LRC), is a welcoming space designed to support students who have served in the military. It offers a comfortable place to study, relax, connect with other veteran students, and access helpful campus and community resources. All veteran and military-connected students are encouraged to stop by and take advantage of the services and support available.
College Life Coaches
A College Life Coach (CLC) serves as an added layer of support to ensure students are successful on their journey in achieving their overall goal while attending OC. The relationship between a student & their CLC includes weekly communication, access to resources on campus, & meetings via Zoom, in person, or over the phone. Some common topics that are discussed include getting started with classes, ways to get connected on campus, study strategies, time management, how to find resources on campus (financial aid, tutoring, Wrangler Food Pantry, etc.), & answering anything that pertains to college life. Our goal as your College Life Coach is to make your college experience a success.
Legal Insurance for Students
Ascendium Education Solutions® and ARAG® have partnered to provide eligible students a complimentary legal insurance membership with ARAG. The legal plan can help students handle any legal issues while staying on track with their education. Students have access to network attorneys who can provide legal counsel and representation. And best of all, network attorney fees are paid in full for most covered legal matters.
