RADR 1366 - Practicum II -Radiologic Technology/Science-Radiographer

Practical general workplace training supported by an individualized plan developed by the employer, college, and student. A health practicum will be an unpaid learning experience. Introduces the day shift clinical environment at a JRCERT recognized clinical facility. Requires rotating through different work areas. Competencies include: production of standard radiographic images of the chest, abdomen, and upper and lower extremities, bony thorax, and spine, skull, and radiographic procedures requiring the administration of contrast media (re: UGI, LGI, excretory urography, etc.) with direct supervision (pre-competency) and with indirect supervision (post-competency); radiographic image evaluation regarding anatomy, positioning, and technical factors; reading, understanding and demonstrating understanding of positioning materials by selecting necessary equipment when producing standard radiographic images on patients (performance evaluations). Apply the theory, concepts, and skills involving specialized materials, tools, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal systems associated with the occupation and the business/industry.
