Odessa College has a very active Athletic Department. All students, regardless of modality, are encouraged to attend athletic events and cheer on the Wranglers. Odessa College offers 14 varsity sports programs.

Student Athletic Trainers
These teams are comprised of over 200 Student Athletes each year. Eleven of the sports compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The Wranglers are members of the Western Junior College Athletic Conference in Region 5 and compete against twelve teams from Texas and New Mexico.
The Wrangler Rodeo Team competes in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) against teams from Texas and New Mexico. Odessa College hosts their home rodeo at the Ector County Coliseum each February.
The OC Blues Dance team competes nationally in both the National Dance Alliance (NDA) and the American Dance/Drill Team (ADTS). The Blues have captured over 15 National Championships in Hip Hop and Jazz categories.
Home Volleyball and Basketball Games are held in the OC Sports Center, The Wrangler Baseball team plays at Wrangler Ballpark and the Softball team plays at the OC Softball Complex. In 2024 both the Baseball and Softball fields natural grass surface was replaced with a state-of-the-art synthetic turf from RS3 Turf. All Wrangler home athletic events are live-streamed.

Student Activities & Intramural Sports
Odessa College is committed to the co-curricular and social development of its students. Students at Odessa College enjoy participating in a wide range of activities. Events include social activities, service-learning, speaking engagements, cultural observances, and academic programs. The Student Activities Director and Campus Activities Board (CAB) host events and activities throughout the year to keep students engaged on the campus. A schedule of events is available from the Student Activities Director or through the OC Student Activities & Intramurals social media pages. Students should check their emails each Monday afternoon for weekly updates about campus events and activities.
Intramural programming is offered each semester, and students are encouraged to participate as individuals or to form teams. The intramural program is coordinated out of the Student Life Office. For more information, please contact the Residence Life Coordinator by calling 432-335-6353.
Student Government Association (SGA)
Student Government Association (SGA) is the governing body challenged with the role of representing students in the decision-making processes of the College. SGA gives every student the chance to practice and develop leadership skills while representing their peers and improving OC and student life. Students involved in SGA have the chance to interact with the college administration and faculty and work in a collaborative manner to better the institution. SGA members are respected as leaders of the student body, and their input is often sought in making important decisions for Odessa College. Residence Life
Student housing is available in Century Commons. This facility features laundry rooms, study and internet labs, barbecue areas, and a swimming pool. Century Commons apartment-style living features private bedrooms with shared kitchens units that include microwaves, ovens, and dishwashers. Residents share a bathroom with one other student. Student Life
The Office of Student Life is responsible for fostering a holistic and engaging student experience at Odessa College. Through initiatives focused on leadership development, co-curricular involvement, student civility, and residential life, Student Life supports students in their personal and academic growth.
The Office of Student Life encompasses Student Activities, Registered Student Organizations, Student Government, Intramural Sports, New Student Orientation, and Residence Life. It also oversees the annual publishing of the Student Handbook, the student conduct process, and the Drive to Success program. Student Life facilities on campus feature a game room, staff offices, two residence halls, and dedicated workspace for registered student organizations.

Student Organizations
A number of student organizations are available in which students can get involved and be engaged on campus. Students at OC enjoy participating in a wide range of activities. Organizations range from leadership groups such as Student Government Association to the academic honor society Phi Theta Kappa to cultural-based and social groups. Students are encouraged to create new organizations that will add to the diversity and breadth of involvement opportunities. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)- Honor Society
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the international academic honor society for two-year colleges. All programs of the group are based on four hallmarks - scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship. Phi Theta Kappa’s purpose is to recognize and promote scholastic achievement, provide members with opportunities for leadership development and encourage members to foster an atmosphere conducive to scholarly fellowship.
To qualify for membership a student must be enrolled at Odessa College, have earned at least 12 hours of college level credit at Odessa College with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher by the semester previous to the semester of induction.
