Athletics
Odessa College has a very active Athletics division. All students, regardless of modality, are encouraged to attend athletic events where practical. Odessa College offers ten varsity sports teams located on the main campus:
- Men’s Golf
- Softball
- Baseball
- Women’s Volleyball
- Women’s Basketball
- Men’s Basketball
- Rodeo
- Cross Country (Paused for 2021-2022)
- Track & Field (Paused for 2021-2022)
- Dance
- Sports Medicine Program
These teams are comprised of approximately 200 athletes who compete in the Western Junior Athletic Conference each year. The conference includes ten schools in Texas and New Mexico. Student athletes live in residence on the main Odessa College campus.
Volleyball and Basketball Games held in the Odessa College Sports Center are live streamed and anyone can follow Wrangler Athletics on Social Media.
Student Activities & Intramural Sports
Odessa College is committed to the co-curricular and social development of its students. Students at Odessa College enjoy participating in a wide range of activities. Events include social activities, service-learning, speaking engagements, cultural observances, and academic programs. The Student Activities Director and Campus Activities Board (CAB) host events and activities throughout the year to keep students engaged on the campus. A schedule of events is available from the Student Activities Director or through the OC Student Activities & Intramurals social media pages. Students should check their emails each Monday afternoon for weekly updates about campus events and activities.
Intramural programming is offered each semester, and students are encouraged to participate as individuals or to form teams. The intramural program is coordinated out of the Student Life Office. For more information, please contact the Housing Records Specialist by calling 432-335-6353.
Student Government Association (SGA)
Student Government is the governing body challenged with the role of representing students in the decision-making processes of the College. SGA gives every student the chance to practice and develop leadership skills while representing their peers and improving OC and student life. Students involved in Student Government have the chance to interact with the college administration and faculty and work in a collaborative manner to better the institution. Student Government members are respected as leaders of the student body, and their input is often sought in making important decisions for

Student Housing
Student housing is available in Century Commons. This facility features laundry rooms, study and internet labs, barbecue areas and a swimming pool. Century Commons apartment-style living features private bedrooms with shared kitchens units that include microwaves, ovens and dishwashers. Residents share a bathroom with one other student. Student Life
The Office of Student Life is responsible for providing a well-rounded student experience for OC students through leadership development, activity involvement, student civility, and on-campus living. The Executive Director of Student Life oversees the Student Handbook, Student Conduct and counsels students with general grievances. The Student Housing Director serves as the chief conduct officer for the college under the direction of the Executive Director of Student Life. Departments within Student Life include Student Activities, Intramurals, and Student Housing. The Student Life facilities on the Odessa College campus include a game room, staff offices as well as dedicated registered student organization work space. Student Organizations
A number of student organizations are available in which students can get involved and be engaged on campus. Students at OC enjoy participating in a wide range of activities. Organizations range from leadership groups such as Student Government Association to the academic honor society Phi Theta Kappa to cultural-based and social groups. Students are encouraged to create new organizations that will add to the diversity and breadth of involvement opportunities. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)- Honor Society
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the international academic honor society for two-year colleges. All programs of the group are based on four hallmarks - scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship. Phi Theta Kappa’s purpose is to recognize and promote scholastic achievement, provide members with opportunities for leadership development and encourage members to foster an atmosphere conducive to scholarly fellowship.
To qualify for membership a student must be enrolled at Odessa College, have earned at least 12 hours of college level credit at Odessa College with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher by the semester previous to the semester of induction.
